FISCHER-Z & GUN | 25 OCTOBER | CASINO ESTORIL

Friends of Portugal is what you can say about these two British groups who visit our country on almost every tour, as they are both active all over the world, both on the road and recording. With new albums in their luggage and an infallible setlist that brings together decades of repertoire, Fischer-Z and the Guns return to Casino Estoril, where they were together in 2018 for the first edition of Cascais Rock Fest.

Fischer-Z

Fischer-Z is the project that John Watts created while studying psychology and after various internships in psychiatric clinics, experiences that immediately made the themes of his songs different. And, surprising the industry, several became resounding hits all over the world: "Marliese", "So Long" or "The Worker" are still today social portraits of the 80s, true sound photographs of realities that in the end endure. And they were all chart-toppers and MTV chart-toppers, forever remaining the hallmarks of a time when "new wave" was being discovered. Over the course of 40 years, John Watts has continued to release music both solo and with Fischer-Z, with whom he released the album "Triptyc" in April this year. And, like Taylor Swift or Bryan Adams, he has re-recorded some of his hits in order to benefit more from the royalties generated by his work.

GUN

The Scottish Gun also re-recorded hits such as "Better Days", "Don't Say It's Over" or "Word Up", the first rock approach to the original by the black funk trio Cameo. Korn would later do the same, but the Guns assume that despite their long-standing success with their original selves, it was this single that established them as one of the UK's most powerful stage acts and led to tours with the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi and Def Leppard.

And yet it's the new album "Hombres" that is taking the media by storm, with Louder giving it 4 out of 5, Distorted Sound Mag and All About Rock 9 out of 10 and several titles naming it as a finalist for the best of the year.

It's not the first time that the Gun have proved they have 7 lives and the "rock" force of their concerts is constantly renewed by new songs, new takes on the classics and the friendly energy that the Gizzi brothers share on stage.
